Brown Family Reunion 2011

The Saturday of Labor Day Weekend we headed to Kanab for the Annual Brown Family Reunion.  This is always a blast. This year we were also celebrating Grandpa Brown's 80th birthday.  We went to the pool had a great lunch, played Family Feud, had some free time, played some more games before our Luau Dinner and Program celebrating the life of Grandpa.  We also enjoyed catching up with all the family and there are alot, the total number: Grandparents their kids and spouses, grandkids and spouses, and great-grandchildren the total is at 79.  Here are some of the highlights.

Emerson loves to play with his cousins and Grandma

This is John's sister's son he will be 4 next month, Emerson isn't that much smaller than him

Decided he wanted to share Daxton's food

Emerson with his Great Aunt Jana, although we will just have him call her Aunt Jana since she isn't much older than me.  But we were so excited that he finally got to meet her.

My Little Water Baby!

We made hats for Grandpa's Birthday, this is the Family working on the hat, I just watched cause they had it all under control.

Emerson with Aunt Kristi

Talon's hair must have tasted good

This is the amazing cake they had done for Grandpa's Birthday

Emerson loves spending time with Grandpa Brown, wish we could see them more often.

For part of the program we had a fashion show where each family dressed up like what that decade would look like.  These are the clothes from the 30's that our family's kids are wearing.

Emerson's First Haircut!

So Emerson's hair was a bit crazy he had some hairs that were really long and others that are short, so we decided to have Aunt Amanda do some magic and give him a little trim to make his hair look more uniform.  She didn't take off much but I guess it is still the first haircut.

John was doing his best to keep Emerson entertained and still but he just wanted to keep moving to play with Daddy so I think it ended up making it a little bit harder on Amanda.

This is the best picture I could find that showed what it was like after.  I can now do it and make him look cool, but he has inherited his father's curly hair so it takes a lot to get it to stay straight,  it likes to curl down so I won't be doing his hair as often as I hoped.

Labor Day

Week of Labor Day
So we had a very long Week before Labor Day. Emerson and I went down a week early to spend some time with my Family and to visit with some friends. We also went to Cedar real quick for a day to visit with some friends at Head Start and to meet up with Ashley and Cade, who were there having their ultasound to find out what they will be having. They are having a GIRL, we are so excited and can't wait to meet her. These are just a few of the things we did while at my parents.
My Mom recently had a shoulder replacement but still likes to feed Emerson but he decided not to make it too easy on her.

Just hanging with Grandpa

Didn't know what to think about all the kisses!

Got to experience bath in a new way in Grandma's sink.

Above and Below: Playing Hide and Go Seek with Grandpa :)

Labor Day Weekend
We went to Panaca on Sunday to enjoy the fireworks and parade in Pioche and came home on Monday, it was a fun weekend with all the cousins and Emerson enjoyed all the kids.
One of the girls decicded that Emerson needed to dress up too, the funny thing is his shirt says "I am the King of the Jungle!"

We were all playing outside when there was a large thud, this Hawk flew into the window he was stunned for a bit, but snapped out of it and flew off.

Emerson getting dressed for the fireworks, Daddy picked out his shirt.

First shoulder ride

It is tradition to go to the Fireworks and we always take a few different kinds of popcorn and enjoy our treat and the great fireworks.

The Fam

Above: Emerson enjoying the fireworks, shortly after I took this he decided he was hungry so Grandma was feeding him.  Below: After pitching a fit to be fed Emerson decided he could take a break to watch the fireworks.

Apparently he has to eat just before the big show, last night fireworks here parade.

Emerson loves his cousin Daxton.

This picture and the next one are Daxton and Emerson fighting over John's buttons.

Watching the parade.
