Easter, Mother's Day and a Few Fun Days!

Easter
We went to Caliente for Easter, John had a Business Trip the 3 days before the weekend so I rode home with my Brother and his family to spend a few extra days.  We then headed to Panaca when John's parents got home and spent Easter Sunday with them.  It was a great trip and we had lots of fun being able to see our families and visit with friends.
On the trip down he was so content holding his cousins hand.  They did this the whole time and it was like a 5 hour drive.

Saturday morning we colored eggs, since John didn't get there till midnight on Friday.

We then took some nice family pictures.

My Mom insisted we do a picture like this, but it did turn out cute.

As we finished up my neices came by so I grabbed this picture, what a bunch of beautiful children.
Grandpa took Emerson hunting eggs at the Easter Egg Hunt.
Every year we have a family picnic after the Hunt, we have been doing this for years my Grandma always insisted that we go on a picnic and have fried chicken and the tradition has stuck.  My Dad and Mom also hide some plastic eggs w/candy in the yard and one money egg per grandchild this is Emerson looking for his.
One of John's awesome Aunts sent us a cool gift of clothes for all of Emerson's firsts, this is the Easter outfit she sent.

Easter Sunday we woke up at John's parents house and the Easter bunny had visited and left Emerson a basket.

Mother's Day
It was strange realizing that this year I would be celebrating Mother's Day.   We were all trying to get over some head colds so we stayed in and vegged most of the day.  A few days later John and Emerson planted the flowers out front in my flower bed, it was good to get outside in the fresh air on such a nice day.

This is the card that John and Emerson got me.  John said that when he held that one up to show Emerson he smiled so that is how he picked it.

Cleaning out the flower bed.

Decided to take a break and then took a nap.
Watching Daddy work.

Just hanging he has become such a wiggle worm.

John tried to get Emerson to help plant not sure he was much help.

Finished result, Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Some Fun Moments from the Last few Weeks
Meeting my Aunt Ashley

Meeting my Uncle Cade

Napping with Grandpa

We were getting ready to head home from visiting with my family and my Nephew asked if he could come on his lunch from school to say goodbye.  He is so sweet and always waits his turn so he didn't spend much time holding Emerson so since I was going to feed him right before we left I let my Nephew do it, he was so excited, he went back to school and told his Mom I got to feed the baby.

I was making cookies the other night and John was tired so I brought Emerson in the kitchen he just sat there in the Bumbo watching me.

Tummy time with Daddy

He always wants to play with John so if John takes a nighttime feeding Emerson thinks that he gets to play instead of go back to sleep.

The other night Emerson was really fussy which was a little abnormal since he has been having good 4 hour long stretches of sleep.  After being up with him till 4 I was exhausted and crying so I woke up John to come help.  About 2 seconds after John picked him up he pooped, so John changed him during the changing he peed all over the bed and himself and then he got all happy so we had to take this picture at 4:30 AM.

First of April my Sister was getting married in Manti so one of my neices came to help us before the wedding.  The morning we were all trying to get ready to travel and he was fussy so she picked him up and he immediatley laid his head on her shoulder and went to sleep.  She is the greatest little helper ever, I wish I could have her all the time.

While my Neice was here I asked her what she wanted to do and she wanted to play the Wii.  She asked if we had Just Dance 2, we didn't so we went and bought it.  This and below are her and John playing.  It was such a Hoot to watch John.

Emerson's Birth Story!!!

So I am a very huge slacker and its been 8 weeks since Emerson was born, so sorry for the long post. I just want to share for those that would like to know.  I will also do some more posts to catch up on what has gone on in the weeks since so stay tuned.
I went in for my weekly doctor's appointment late afternoon on Tuesday March 1st.  My BP was high  so the doctor decided to send me to the hospital for monitoring.  He said that depending on how the monitoring and labs came out he would probably induce me later that night.  I asked him, " How bad do they have to be for you to induce tonight, or is there anyway we could wait till Thursday the 3rd."  He laughed and said that he had never had a patient ask to wait at this point in the pregnancy.  I then told him,"Tomorrow is my Birthday and I don't want to be in labor on my birthday." He said we will see. So I headed to the hospital for my testing.  After 2 hours that felt like forever, the nurse came in and handed me some paperwork, and said, "The doctor said to come in at 6 AM Thursday morning to be induced," she then said that he told her that if I hadn't asked him to wait he would have admitted me right then. So I told her the story and she laughed.  Later that night John took me out for an early birthday dinner, just in case something happened the next day.
So I went in to be induced it was pushed back so by the time I was admitted and hooked up to the IV and Pitocen it was around 1 PM.  Things were going along great and I was just waiting as long as I could for the Epidural, when the Dr. walked in and said, " I'm gonna break your water." "Great I should have got the Epidural first." About 30 minutes after he broke my water I got the Epidural and was feeling great.  By 8 I was fully dialated, and the Dr. said to give me an hour to let the Baby finish moving down on his own. At a little after 9 the nurse came in and said lets do some practice pushes, I did two reps and she said I better go call the Dr. she came back in and I did 3 more reps and she said I better go tell the Dr. to hurry up.  She was just walking out the door when he walked in.  Next thing the room is in a frenzy and they are hurrying to set everything up.  I start pushing, and then I hear the Dr. say ok relax, and a couple seconds later I heard the baby crying.  From the time the nurse called the Dr. to when Emerson was born was 16 minutes.  Emerson Arthur Cumming was born on March 3, 2011 at 9:36 PM, weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and was 20 in long.  Emerson is John's middle name and his Paternal Grandfather's first name, Arthur is after my Dad.
We are so blessed to have him here safe and sound and thankful for this great blessing the Heavenly Father has sent to us.  Here are some pics of the experience.  Thanks for letting us share with you.

Going Home Outfit

Welcome Home Little One!!!

Sleeping away in the beautiful Cradle that my
 Late Uncle Emmett crafted.

About a week after we brought him home he would scoot himself over so
that he mashed his face against the bars and could stick his hands out little fart.

When Emerson was 2 weeks old we took him home to meet the rest of the family.  Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, here are some of those pictures.
