Birthday Parties & Emerson's 1st Fishing Trip

Birthday Parties
So in June we were so excited to be able to head south and celebrate our nephews (two of them 6 days apart) Birthday's.  We had so much fun with the family and the two cute Birthday Boys.

Hanging with Grandma
Above and Below: The Birthday Boys and their Cakes.  Must be Yummy!

Emerson was really intrigued with what his Cousin was playing with. This is actually the first time I have been able to get a picture of these two together. Sure hope I can get many more.
Emerson is definitely a Water Baby

The Kids all decided to join Emerson in the small pool and thought it would be fun to pour water on his belly.  He actually enjoyed it.

John decided to give the slide a try. Below: Emerson didn't think it was a good idea.

Emerson's 1st Fishing Trip
Last weekend we were finally able to get together with some friends that we haven't seen in a long time.  We used to hang out all the time when we lived in Cedar then they moved to Wyoming and when we moved North we were finally close enough to get together, but never found the time we were all so busy.  They came to visit family in town and we all got together to go fishing.  So Emerson got to meet the awesome Shumways and also go fishing for the first time. It was almost dark by the time we got out there, so we didn't get much fishing done, but we gave it a try.  Thanks for all the fun!

All of us heading down to the river to do some fishing.
John is getting Emerson's opinion on which spinner to use. Not sure if he was much help.
He mainly sat in is stroller and tried to eat his blanket.  There were a ton of mosquitos so I tried to keep him as covered as possible.
My awesome friend her job was to hold her kid's fishing poles when they weren't using them.  She did a great job.
The awesome friend;s Husband, he is awesome too and a great Dad. Getting the hook on for his daughter.
It was late and passed Emerson's normal bedtime so he got fussy and I couldn't resist taking this picture of him.

4 Months Old!

So I know this is a little late but Emerson is now 4 months old.  Here are some updated pics of how he looks and what he has been up too.

4 Month Stats:

16 lbs. 4 oz. (77%)
26 3/4 in. long (93%)
What a Cute Big Boy!
Getting better with his hands
Really enjoys his swing now that he is bigger, and gives me a much needed break sometimes.
Loves bath time even more when we let him shower
First attempts at rice cereal, one thing we have learned is he does not like the store bought rice, so homemade it is.

Finally able to catch some Smiles on camera
Love this picture cause he will wiggle move, bend backwards, or try to roll onto his side whenever Chef Anne Burrell from the Food Network is on.  Once he hears her voice it is like leave me alone I'm watching my Girlfriend the only time of the day that he is interested in the TV.
So apparently he has decided that he prefers to sleep with total darkness cause this is how we have started finding him at night or naptime.  John says he is like Mom, I have to admit I do like the dark.
At 5:30 when Dad walks through the door his face lights up and I no longer exist all he wants it Daddy and playtime.  He sure loves playing with Daddy!

4th of July!!!

We got to go Home for the 4th of July, we were excited to get to visit with family for a few days and let Emerson experience the great fun that a Caliente 4th has to offer.
Here are some pics of the good 'ol fam getting ready for the parade.

Emerson slept through most of it, until the very last fire truck blew it horn then he woke up, this is him enjoying the last of the parade below.

Above it was so hot that we let him lay out under the trees in the yard in just his diaper.  Below: Grandpa and Emerson are talking to each other.

Of course he needed a nap before the Fireworks and what better place than with Grandpa in the recliner.
Two little sillies before the fireworks. Below: Pics of all the fams enjoying the fireworks.

Emerson slept through the whole thing, even the really loud ones.
After the fireworks we headed back to my parents for roasting marshmallows.  We had a lot of good friends join us too.

Grandpa wanted to get an updated pic of all the grandkids.
After such a long funfilled day Emerson was very tired so Daddy was rocking him to sleep.  They are standing next to the room where the cooler is located, it was really hot. Below: Emerson loves to play with all his cousins.

She was pretending to eat his feet and he was laughing so hard that he got the hiccups. So Fun!
